This was actually the first time that I made snickerdoodles. Or eaten them. I had no idea what I was missing out on. Seriously, they are awesome.
They are fluffy, buttery, cinnamony deliciousness.
They have my approval and have made it onto my top four cookies list.;)
Snickerdoodles
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cream of tarter
a pinch of salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Beat together butter and 1 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each one. Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tarter and salt; stir into butter mixture. Blend well. Chill 30 minutes.
Preheat over to 400 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or grease pans.
Mix cinnamon and sugar together in a shallow bowl. Roll dough into small balls (about the size of a walnut) and roll in sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake 8 minutes.
