Recipe: French Breakfast Muffins

French Breakfast Muffins
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 c. milk

1/2 c. sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon 
1/2 c. butter

In a large bowl beat shortening and sugar. Add egg and beat. In another bowl mix together flour, bakign powder, salt and nutmeg. Alternately add the milk and dry ingredients. Fill 15 muffin cups 2/3 full of batter. Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
Mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon and melt the butter. Immediately after baking roll muffins in butter and then sugar. 
Serve warm.
